Every Audi TT model is usually followed closely by special versions. In this case, the 2014 version was followed by a sportier TT S, a performance oriented TT RS and later a racing-oriented Sport TT Cup. Well, Audi has offered yet another special edition of the TT in the name of the 2017 Audi TT S Line Competition available in both Coupe and Roadster body styles. The new model features an array of unique features; it features a sportier exterior as well as a unique cabin design not forgetting its stiffer suspension.
The new 2017 Audi TT S Line Competition seeks to capitalize on the TT’s reputation in the market courtesy of its bold styling, awesome power and excellent performance. In essence, this is aimed at keeping enthusiasts occupied before the automaker releases the 4th generation of Audi TT. Audi TT S Line 2017 Competition Exterior
The new, high-gloss black front grille is the first thing that attracts you when you look at the TT S Line Competition. The model also features new mirror caps. At the rear, the S Line Competition features a rear diffuser along with a new rear wing to add to its character.
The exhaust tips are finished off in black-chrome detailing. Onto the sides, the model rides on 5-spoke, 19-inch alloy wheels with a silver finish as well as gloss black inserts. Stopping power comes from red-painted brake calipers on all models regardless of the exterior paintwork chosen.
Talking of the exterior paint job, the TT S Line Competition will be availed in 4 hues which are Nano Gray, Glacier White, Tango Red and new for 2017, Ara Blue.
Overall, the new model is more aggressive compared to the standard model. The coupe sits 10mm lower courtesy of lower springs.
Audi TT S Line 2017 Competition Interior
Inside the cabin, Audi has added some extra features. The model comes with S sport seats with electrically adjusted lumbar support and embossed backrests. It also comes with a leather-wrapped S Line Sport steering wheel. The S Line Competition also gets unique upholstery where the seats and door armrests are upholstered in a combination of leather and Alcantara or a choice of Nappa leather.
The upholstery comes in a black trim. A gray contrast stitching is offered on all surfaces with leather or Alcantara. The inlays of the model are finished in matt-brushed aluminum. On the other hand, a Slate Gray chrome trim is offered on the crip at the center of the center console, seat trims and air vents.
To complete the new additions in the cabin is a Sport Screen on the instrument cluster. The screen is dominated by a tachometer, which is integrated with a speed display.
Engine specs and performance :
The TT S Line Competition is motivated by a turbocharged 2.0 L, 4-cylinder mill that produces 230 horses and 273 lb-ft of torque. It is not a fully-fledged TT S Line as its name indicates. In comparison, the same engine is good for 320 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque in a fully-fledged TT S Line.
The engine can be had with either a 6- speed manual or an S tronic transmission if you opt for front-wheel drive. The model is also available with S tronic and Quattro all-wheel-drive.
Price and release date:
To get your hands on a TT S Line Competition, you will have to spend $47,100. In comparison, the Roadster attracts $49,800. Unfortunately, the US market won’t get the coupe or the Roadster. The model will arrive in dealerships at the end of this year.
