Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 2017:
The 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is out; it comes with a more powerful mill mated to a new 10-speed automatic transmission making this Camaro a beast on wheels. What is most important though is that you can take this beast with you on your daily runs, as it is all-road legal. Read along for more information

Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Exterior :
High-performance models always get an exterior upgrade to set them apart from their regular siblings. In a similar way, Chevrolet hooked up the Camaro ZL1 with a ZL1 package, which makes the ZL1 more aggressive than other Camaros. To start with, at the front, the model features a skinny grille with larger air intakes underneath. Flanking the grille are larger LED DRLs and new, revised cooling ducts. It also features a vented engine hood along with carbon-fiber inserts as well as “ZL1” logos to set it apart from other Camaro models.
On the sides, it has new, black-painted side skirts that stretch close to the ground. It also rides on lightweight wheels dressed in gloss-black. At the back, the ZL1 features a modified diffuser and a larger spoiler mounted on the trunk lid to provide extra downforce. The automaker has retained the Camaro SS quad-exhaust system.
I understand the model underwent more than 100 hours of on-track and wind-tunnel testing to ensure it has awesome cooling capability and excellent aerodynamics.
Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Interior:
The cabin design of the ZL1 is borrowed from the SS model. As such, it features an identical flat-bottomed steering wheel as well as a shift knob that is wrapped in suede. The model also features Recaro front seats. The seats feature “ZL1” logos to show everyone that this is not your regular Camaro.
The door panels and passenger-side dash feature suede inserts. The model’s leather upholstery is contrasted by an attractive stitching. Aluminum inserts, as well as a bespoke display for the model’s infotainment screen, are offered as standard. Generally, the new Camaro ZL1 cabin is more spacious and feels upscale compared to the regular Camaros.
Engine Specs and performance:
Prepare to be entertained as this is the most powerful Camaro ever. The automaker has replaced the mill on the outgoing model with a Corvette Z06 sourced 6.2 L, V-8. The mill borrows most components from the Corvette but the intake, as well as the exhaust system, has been specifically modified for the Camaro.
The mill spits out 650 horses and 650 lb-ft of torque. This represents an increase of a whopping 70 hp and 94 lb-ft of torque. The engine mates to a new 10-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters. This system is specifically tuned for the ZL1 and Chevrolet claims the transmission provides faster shifting than even the Porsche PDK dual-clutch system. This gearbox was developed jointly with Ford Motors, which has already used it on the 2017 F-150 Raptor.
A standard 6-speed manual gearbox with rev matching is offered for those who want to be more engaged with their ZL1. In terms of performance, the new Camaro ZL1 hits 60 mph from a standstill in just 3.5 seconds, a half-second quicker than the outgoing model making it the fastest road-legal Camaro ever. It completes a quarter mile in 11.4 seconds and its excellent braking system enables it to come to a standstill from a 60 mph speed in only 107 feet.

Price and release date:
Chevrolet is already accepting orders for the Camaro ZL1. The new model is more expensive with a starting price of $62,135 compared to the outgoing model’s $55,505 starting price. Buyers looking for all the headroom in the world will pay an extra $7,000 for the convertible. The ZL1 is the most expensive 6th-gen Camaro.
